 a Fairytale from the
 "Whootie Owl Collection"

Ask your child about the fairytale we read in class from the Whootie Owl Collection.
~
These are fairytales and folk tales from around the world that speak to positive themes such as honesty, kindness, and respect. Each story in the Whootie Owl collection is fun, upbeat, kid-tested, and nondenominational. Whootie Owl's stories have been recognized by USAToday and Highlights for Children, and are recommended to teachers by Disney.
~
Whootie Owl's stories are rich in multicultural flavor and provide opportunities in writing and reading comprehension. The title of the story we read is: "___________________________________" from ___________. If you have access to the Internet, you can view the story yourself. You can also see how other kids responded to the same questions that were presented to your child's class.

  • Go to the web site, "Absolutely Whootie: Stories to Grow By":

  • Double-click the castle on the home page.
  • Select the title of the story our class read from the drop-down list. Click "Go".
  • You'll see the story title I filled in above. Scroll down to the end of the story. A yellow flourish follows the end of the story.
  • Just below the yellow flourish, you'll see a black oval button with yellow letters that says, "What Other Kids Say About the Story". Double-click it. You'll see a page displaying how other children responded to the same questions your child answered in class!
